There are a variety of ways that web site design and graphic companies charge customers for their services. Many charge customers the standard $65 - $75/hour for design and programming. Others charge a flat fee by web page offering templates as a cheaper route.
The standard rate is normally way too expensive for the average small business and offering flat fees by web page is not always practical. Customers do not always know what they want up front. However, some customers do.
$35/hour Flat Fee
I have found that charging a low $35/hour flat fee has worked the best for my clients. Services will cost you no more than the actual time I put into it. For example, if you lay out a web site and have all the content, then the less time I have to put into it, so it will cost you less. If I have to develop content, logos and design, then it will cost you more.
